Going from strength to strength
It is always a pleasure to be the bringer of good news for IFA members, so the recent success of the inaugural IFA president’s dinner is gratifying for all of us. Prestigious representatives of the small business community, banking sector and other professional finance bodies were among the attendees who subsequently sang the praises of the event, and the IFA - something you can all look forward to learning more about in the next issue of Financial Accountant.
Meanwhile, your institute is going from strength to strength in all sorts of areas. The IFA has made impressive progress in the development of its new syllabus, and educational institutes are showing a great deal of interest; new membership benefits are being introduced for members (see below); the profile of the IFA outside the UK (always high in some parts of the world) is growing and developing in new regions; the success of the IFA regional seminar programme Changing Times: Instilling Confidence is something we can all be part of, and you can register for forthcoming events here.
The success of the IFA is all about the success of its students and members, and the small and medium enterprises they work with and for, and the IFA Achievement Awards recognise the endeavours of these unsung heroes. We can all benefit from a little more encouragement and recognition for our efforts, so take a look at the award categories for 2010 here, complete an application form, and nominate the person you are most impressed by – and then we can all celebrate (and learn from) their achievements.
